Benposta Venezuela is always looking for volunteers

img_33410303141766You are always welcome in Benposta Venezuela in one locations (usually the volunteers are offered to change location during their stay to get to know all projects):

  • Los Frailes (State Zulia, approx. 70km from Maracaibo) – The project Benposta has about 2 hectares of land, where younger kids are taken care of. They also have an elementary school there, circus classes, “Benposta-Bank” and “Benposta-Shop”, Residence for the kids, etc. (see also photos). The location is quite remote (no or hardly any public transport).
  • Isla de Zapara –  Benposta supports a “Comedor” and education of local people

Requirements

  • Basic Spanish communication skills! (The better your Spanish the more you profit from it, English is not spoken!)
  • Vocation of service / will to help
  • Having own iniciative (Improvisation is often needed in South America!)
  • Creativity and if possible vocation to teach art stuff (circus skills, painting, music, carpentry, agriculture, etc. – of course not all needed! 😉 )
  • Teachers/Doctors are welcome (not required)
  • Minimum volunteer stay three months
  • Collect donations in your surrounding to bring along to Benposta, such as paint brushes, pencils, sharpener, rubber/eraser, exercise books, toys, presents, etc.

Conditions

  • Good character
  • During your stay you have to give good example for the kids (general behaviour, i.e. clean your own apartment, etc.)
  • Vocation of service and will to work where needed
  • Minimum stay two months
  • No drugs!
  • Any economic support you can provide/organize is welcome

Benposta offers

  • Pick up service from Maracaibo, Venezuela (i.e. from the airport)
  • Accommodation
  • Food (If you are a vegetarian, we need to check if it’s possible)
  • Excursions when finished with the work (Needs to be asked for and discussed with staff in advance!)
